Frequently Asked Questions

How does the V9 compare to its cloest competitor, the Falcon? The V9 is geared more towards beginners, or those looking for a lightweight, grab-and-go suspension wheel with lots of convenience features and a more ergonomic design. Conversely, while the Falcon is only a few pounds heavier, its focus is on torque and performance, with fewer bells and whistles. Both Wheels serve similar purposes, though, depending on one's price range, intended use case, and feature requirements. Shared features between the two include a built-in trolley handle, rear brake and turn signals, a top-mounted display, adjustable headlight, and the tire size. Features unique to the V9 include smart BMS functionality, USB A & C device charging, Bluetooth speakers, and GPS location via the Inmotion app.

What is the realistic range of the V9?Inmotion claims a range of 37 miles, but range on an EUC can depend on many factors, including rider weight, tire pressure, incline, terrain, average riding speed, wind speed, and ambient temperature. One should be able to achieve at least 15 miles on a single charge regardless of conditions, with 20-30 miles being more typical, and 37 miles possible under ideal conditions.

Does the GPS location/data connection feature require a subscription? The V9 is the first Electric Unicycle to be equipped with a cellular transmitter & data SIM card. Once activated, the service is provided for the first year of ownership. More details regarding pricing to continue using the service will be released by Inmotion at a later date.

Can I connect to the Wheel using the cellular connection via the app? What actions can I do?This data connection allows you to connect to the Wheel not only through the standard Bluetooth, but anywhere where there is cellular service. This includes tracking the Wheel, checking charge status, viewing trip information, or any other configuration setting changes.

Is there a choice of tires? Can I fit a knobby tire? Inmotion ships the V9 exclusively with a 3.00-10/14x3" size street tire. The knobby tire from the A2 & Falcon, despite being the same size, doesn't fit the V9's motor as the bead diameter is too small, unfortunately. The main advantage of tubeless over tubes is flat resistance, statistically speaking, tubeless tires develop flats less than 10% as frequently than with tubes.

What's the recommended maximum charging speed for the V9?For fast charging, we recommend a maximum of 5A given the battery pack's capabilities. The first production run of V9 units will include a 4A charger, which is sufficient to charge the Wheel in 2-2.5 hours. Thankfully, the V9 does use Begode's 84V charging port layout, so any 84V Begode chargers are already compatible.

How does the music sharing feature work? If you and a friend have a V9, it is possible to play music from one phone on both Wheels! First, connect your phone to one Wheel, start playing music, and double-tap the power button on both Wheels to sync them up. Inmotion has a a video guide demonstrating this process as well: https://youtu.be/GMLS6Z4gyOQ

Does the V9 come with an air pump? Yes, similar to the V13 and V11Y, the V9 does come with a high-pressure pump that can be used to inflate the suspension, as well as the tire in a pinch.

Are there pads? Which style pads are recommended? While the V9 doesn't come with pads from the factory, the upper pads that come with the V13 are a perfect fit, which will be available in late April!

Will I need to connect to the App through my phone in order to use for the first time? Yes, the V9 does require you to activate the wheel with the Inmotion app to start using it. This is a one-time process, and you'll only need to use the app for the initial activation and to configure settings on the wheel. Inmotion has released a setup video guide for the V9, explaining this process and showing how to configure the wheel for first use: https://youtu.be/aiMVfqJPdrQ

Can one change the LED pattern, or disable the side lights from the App? Yes, it is possible to change or disable the side accent LEDs using the app.

How weather resistant is the V9?Inmotion claims IPX6 water resistance for the V9, however we still recommend the same general advice which applies to all Wheels: light rain and smaller puddles are okay, but moderate to heavy rain and larger bodies of water are to be avoided wherever possible.
