Frequently Asked Questions

When is the Aeon expected to start shipping to customers? What's included with my preorder? Our first shipment will be coming in soon, if all goes to plan, we'll be shipping these Wheels out to customers by the end of January. Every Aeon will come with a free set of Beidou Powerpads.

What differentiates the Aeon from the Aero? There are a few key differences, including a larger tire for more stability, a higher battery voltage for a higher top speed, longer suspension travel for an improved ride feel, and a few features like the new adjustable pedals. The only downside is that this comes with an additional 10lb weight penalty compared to the Aero, in exchange for some performance improvements, but the machine is still very lightweight compared to other suspension offerings on the market at just 64lbs.

Who is the Aeon for? Bucking the recent trend towards heavier Wheels, the lighter-weight Aeon is ideal for someone who wants a Wheel with the best performance to weight ratio on the market. The Aeon slots nicely between the smaller Aero and the larger Patton-S in terms of weight/size and capability, and it's an excellent option for first-time riders and enthusiasts alike. If you're a fan of the Aero, but wish it had a higher top speed or a bit more performance, the Aeon is perfect for you!

Is the suspension on the Aeon reliable? Since the Aero's release, we have not had a single reported shock issue or failure, making NOSFET's suspension choice the most reliable in the industry by far. The Aeon uses similar shocks, with the only difference being a longer travel, meaning they are expected to perform and last just as well as the Aero's.

Which Powerpads will be included with the Aeon? Beidou is developing new pads for the Aeon, with bolt-on adjustable toe hooks, just like what's offered on all model Leaperkim Wheels. We'll be including a set of these new pads with every Aeon.

How do the adjustable pedals work?Riders can choose between two pedal insert sizes, a smaller size for reducing the chance of a pedal strike, and a larger size for a more comfortable ride. The inserts are held to the pedal bases with two screws, making removal and installation quick and easy. This also means that you can replace the pedal inserts without having to replace the pedals, which is a plus for longevity and repairability.

What stock charger that is included & what is the maximum rate of charge? It comes with a stock 5A charger, & the maximum recommended rate of charge is 10A/1,510W, which would provide a charge time of under one hour! Thanks to the Leaperkim's existing 151V lineup, there's already an established charger market for 151V wheels like the Aeon, and we do offer a Roger charger capable of supplying 10A. The Roger charger also features adjustable amperage, for prolonging the battery packs' lifespan by charging at lower amperages when possible.

How weather resistant is the Aeon? The Aeon is claimed to have an IPX6 rating, which indicates decent water resistance. However, the general rule for all wheels remains the same, which is that light rain and small puddles are okay, but moderate to heavy rain and larger bodies of water are to avoided wherever possible.

New Adjustable Beidou Power Pads

Beidou has developed a new and unique pad set exclusively for the Aeon, which includes a set of adjustable toe hooks that provide a more secure lock-in than traditional velcro pads when doing jumps or emergency braking. These toe hook sections re-use some of the stock body mounting screws on the Aeon, to ensure they remain firmly in place. The pad set also includes a pair of upper braking and acceleration pads.
